Getting Started with Web Push Templates #
Web push notifications are essential for engaging with your customers on their web browsers. They can be utilized to send updates, offers, and more. In this documentation, we’ll guide you through creating Web Push templates in the Retainly app.
Creating Template #
To create your web push templates, follow these steps:
- Start by navigating to the Templates section in the Retainly app and then select Web Push.
- Click on the Create button to begin creating your new web push notification template.
- Now, you’ll be able to customize various elements of your web push notification:
- Integration: Under the Sender selector, choose the integration through which the web push notifications will be sent.
- Title: Write a concise and attention-grabbing title for your web push notification.
- Description: Add a description to provide more information about the notification.
- Time Till Launch (TTL): Set the TTL to determine how long the notification should attempt to be delivered. This is particularly useful if the recipient’s device is offline. Choose an appropriate TTL based on the content’s urgency.
- Link (Optional): You can add a link that users will be redirected to upon clicking the notification.
- Buttons (Optional): Optionally, you can add up to two buttons with redirection links. These buttons can be utilized for various actions such as ‘Learn More’, ‘Shop Now’, etc. Please note that these buttons will only be visible to users on Windows.
- Icon: Upload an icon that will be displayed in the notification. This will usually be located at the left side of the title and description.
- Image (Optional): Optionally, you can also upload an image to be displayed in the notification. This could be a banner or any other promotional image.
- Integration: Under the Sender selector, choose the integration through which the web push notifications will be sent.
- After you have customized your web push notification template in Step 4, you can preview it before saving.
- Accessing the Preview Section: On the same page where you’re customizing your template, you’ll find a ‘Preview’ section.
- Switching Between Devices: In the Preview section, you can switch between mobile and desktop views to see how your notification will appear on different devices.
- Platform-Specific Previews: Furthermore, you can see how your web push notification will look specifically on Windows/macOS for desktop users and Android/iOS for mobile users. This is especially useful since you can have buttons that are only visible on Windows, so you can check if they are displayed properly.
- After you are happy with your web push notification template, click the Save button. You’ll now see your new template listed on the main Web Push templates page.
That’s it! You have successfully created a Web Push notification template in the Retainly app. Utilize these templates to actively engage your customers and inform them about the latest updates and offers. Happy notifying!
